Walk three: Post Office to Post Office

It was a much quieter day, we didn’t have as many attendees, and I forgot to take photos we started at Pharos Lighthouse, as there used to be a Post Office there.

The first stopping point was at the Pocket Park across from the library and the old Post Office. This is our second time stopping there.

The rain came and it was horizontal so we dashed in the Library and hid in the fiction section. (yes I did get permission)

We had to start our drawings again because it was a different viewpoint.

As it was a Market day the trams were packed with tourists coming to the Market. The tram door opens and they all pour out. It would be a brilliant spot for people watching and teaching people how to draw gestures of people as they walk.

The rain settled after we finished the first half of the workshop, so we walked along the high street, showing different buildings and what they used to be. Like many high streets Fleetwood has changed over the years, it used to have cinemas, even more chapels, a centralised fire station. All of which were pointed out to the people on the walk.

We stopped outside the Royal Mail Depot and the Post Office, on either side of the road.

And then the rain started so we sketched from under the tram shelter and did some watercolour exercises. (which I forgot to photograph)

There are still walks to come, if you are interested in joining us please book on the Eventbrite

These workshops are made possible by our partners Arts Council England and Healthier Fleetwood.
