Fleetwood Skylines

This project looks at the historical Fleetwood skyline when it was a busy fishing port in the early 20th Century.

This project aims to fuse the creation of a new artwork with a Social Creative Practice.

This is a project dependent on funding but would be a boon for the town and the museum to have new exciting artwork made to Celebrate the town and the fishing industry, which was once a major employer in the town. The Museum building will be in the skyline, the building having been built in 1836 as the Customs House according to designs by Decimus Burton for Sir Peter Hesketh Fleetwood.

There will be workshops aimed at adults within the community to help combat loneliness, and will be held at the Fleetwood Museum. Where participants can go through the stages of making their own postcard model, along with local photographer Claire Walmsley Griffiths leading the first week to photograph the Fleetwood Skyline.

As well as myself working on the final piece of artwork I will be collaborating with Linda Devo, Lisa Wigham of 2am press, who will both bring their unique skills to the project.
