“Around the Houses” Original around woodblock print

My first experiments with laser etched wood blocks were the graphic “Waves” and “Bubbles” prints. This was my first attempt at etching my drawing so I just etched out the drawing rather than removing the background. After doing this I experimented further to create the boats which left thin lines that I could just about make a print off of them.

The boat prints will wear out but this is a more stable object due to most of the wood remaining.

Based on a building on Fleetwood Road North in Thornton-Cleveleys near my parents’ house.

Framed in a 23cm square frame, ready to hang on the wall
