Walk 8: Eyes at Sea

The weather on this northern peninsula is so variable hour to hour nevermind day to day. So today was colder and overcast.

RNLI and Coastguard station in Fleetwood Designed by Eric Forster

We met by Eric Forster’s RNLI and Coastguard building. There were people milling about the entire time watching us and what were doing, hanging around the other side of the slipway looking out at the various buildings.

what really grabbed people’s attention is the training boats from the nautical college that are suspended above the beach and the sea when it is in.

As the weather wasn’t good we only did half the walk, and walked to the Marine Hall, built in the 1930s as venue, both indoors and out, it was once rich with flowers and was why Fleetwood was advertised as the Floral Resort for many years.

The dome is even more impressive from the inside of the building but it wasn’t open to see the inside of the building it is supposed to be open midweek though.
